Bekkjarvik Gjestegiveri in Austevoll, just south of Bergen, was first established by royal order of the Danish King Christian Quart in the 1600s. For the past 32 years, however, husband and wife Asta and Øystein Johannessen have been in charge. The hotel can organise a variety of boating experiences, as well as walking tours and rental bikes for those who prefer to remain on dry land – and in case of bad weather there are plenty of things to do indoors. Bekkjarvik Gjestegiveri is well-known for their array of seafood and people from all over the world come to enjoy their fish soup.
