In an age when many young people feel pressured into rushing through their education, Egå and Ribe folk high schools provide a rare opportunity to explore and reflect. Erling Joensen, principal at Egå, explains: “A lot of our students choose a folk high school because they can’t quite figure out what they want to do after ninth or tenth grade. They need another formative year before progressing to the next step of their education. We also have quite a few who’ve already started a degree but changed their mind.”
