Sitting majestically by the beautiful Töölönlahti bay, the Finnish National Opera building is one of Helsinki’s most famous landmarks and houses both the National Opera and the National Ballet. Step inside and you are greeted by jaw-dropping, aweinspiring productions of high international standard. The Finnish National Opera (FNO) is an opera and ballet company with a broad and varied repertoire. With some 300 performances each year, it contains both timeless classics and new works from home and abroad. The opera began operating in 1911 and the Finnish National Ballet (FNB) was established in 1922.
