After completing their studies at the university in Trondheim, chemical engineers Jann Vestby and Synnøve Vik Bergstad had settled down in Oslo when they were asked if they wanted to move back to Vik Bergstad’s hometown, Sandane in Nordfjord, and take over the family farm. “Making liquor was the first thing that came to our mind when trying to figure out what to do at the old fruit farm. That way, we could make use of our qualification,” says Vestby, general manager of Gardsbrenneriet AS.
