If you have ever visited Oslo, you have definitely laid eyes on a building designed by SJ Arkitekter. The Norwegian
capital, which has received a significant architectural makeover in the last decade, simply would not look the same without them. Most famous is perhaps their building in the Barcode project, the now recognisable row of high-rise buildings facing the Oslo fjord together with the Oslo Opera House, housing Norwegian mutual insurance company KLP. “It’s been truly fantastic to be part of Barcode. The project has transformed Bjørvika and put us on the architectural map,” says founder and partner Svein Jacobsen, who started the company together with Gunnar Solheim in 1997.”
