“Norwegian design has come a long way in the last ten to 15 years,” says Egil Sundet, director of the Association of Norwegian Furniture and Interior Industry. “Brands in the furniture and interiors industry, one of very few sectors developing and manufacturing consumer goods, form a vital part of the Norwegian business society.” The Norwegian furniture industry has been part of the Scandinavian design wave since the 1950s. Albeit somewhat overshadowed
by its Scandinavian neighbours, Norwegian designers and manufacturers have played an important role in developing the reputation of well-designed, comfortable and functional interior products from the Nordic region.
