When Elisabeth Lein opened Beth’s Beauty in Bygdøy Allé in 1990, the beauty industry looked very different. Professional skincare products were limited, treatment options were fewer, and the connection between skin health and overall well-being was rarely discussed. More than three decades later, Beth’s has grown from a traditional beauty salon into a multidisciplinary centre where medical expertise, professional skincare and personal care come together.

Today, Beth’s consists of several locations and more than 140 employees, including doctors, nurses, gynaecologists, skin therapists and other specialists. “We want people to feel seen, heard and cared for,” says Lein. A principle still reflected in the company’s personal approach. During the interview, Lein is driving back from visiting a customer at home. It is not something she does every day, but when circumstances call for it, she still makes the trip herself.

Across its locations, Beth’s Beauty offers everything from traditional beauty and skincare treatments to aesthetic medicine, advanced laser treatments and selected hairdressing services. Customers can also access professional skincare products through the company’s online store. At the same time, the company has expanded its medical offering, with consultations, laboratory testing and support for concerns ranging from acne and hair loss to hormonal challenges and menopause.

That broader perspective has become one of the hallmarks of Beth’s. “What perhaps sets us apart the most is the combination of medical expertise, modern technology and personal follow-up,” says Lein. Rather than simply addressing symptoms, the team works to understand the underlying causes of a concern.

For Lein, some of the most meaningful moments come from seeing how that approach affects people’s lives. She recalls parents returning to thank the team after helping teenagers struggling with severe acne regain the confidence to return to school. “For us, skin health is about more than what you see,” she says.

Beth’s is now entering a new chapter through a partnership with Grand Hotel Oslo. Following an extensive renovation, the hotel’s spa will reopen in December 2026 under Beth’s management. With treatment rooms, lounge areas, outdoor terraces and a generous pool area, the new spa aims to become a destination for well-being and lifestyle in the heart of the capital.

More than 35 years after opening her first salon, helping people feel comfortable in their own skin remains at the heart of Beth’s Beauty – a philosophy that continues to shape its next chapter.
