Imagine sleeping inside your own snow globe, with the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. The igloo-style cabins at Ice & Light Village outside Luleå offer breathtaking views of the natural winter landscape. Outside, exciting activities await, and a cosy restaurant provides the perfect place to unwind after a day filled with adventures.
Ice & Light Village is located on the coast of Swedish Lapland, some 30 kilometres south of Luleå, on the outskirts of the charming village of Morön. Here, five snow globe cabins stand in a forest clearing, right next to an open field and near the frozen archipelago.
In the forest, wild animals such as moose, foxes and sea eagles live in their natural environment. On clear nights, with a little luck, you can witness an unforgettable spectacle when the Northern Lights dance across the sky.
“Surrounded by beautiful nature in a quiet area, our igloo-style cabins invite you to relax and take a break from everyday life,” says Pontus Frank, founder and CEO. “Mornings here are just magical; first waking up to a view of the peaceful landscape, and then heading to our restaurant for a delicious breakfast.”
On the same site is the cosy restaurant, as well as a tipi tent with reindeer skins, fireplaces and a small bar; and an activity centre. You can try snowshoeing through snowy trails, go on thrilling snowmobile rides, try your luck at ice fishing, or just relax in the sauna and hot tubs.
The cabins, each sleeping two people, offer the ultimate mix of relaxation – with heating, bathroom and shower, and fresh water – and adventure. “When you come and stay here, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of winter to the fullest,” adds Frank.
