MJ’S Hotel: A cosy urban oasis in the heart of Malmö

Right in the middle of Malmö is where you will find one of Sweden’s most stylish boutique hotels. The urban oasis has cosy rooms, a fabulous Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and a lush lobby bar, as well as an intimate cocktail bar, too. And at MJ’S, business meetings are anything but boring, with some truly creative meeting spaces on offer.
MJ’S is not just any hotel. The vibe is bold, boutique and non-corporate. Otherwise ordinary meetings and conferences are turned into something fun and unforgettable. “The creative meeting spaces fuel fresh thinking,” says Marielle Eriksson, revenue manager. “You can come for a day conference, stay the night to keep the creative juices flowing over dinner, or go all in and take over the entire hotel – we call it the whole shebang.”
At MJ’S, anything is possible. “We’re yes-sayers,” smiles Eriksson. “Dull activities are a no-no. Instead, wine tastings and cocktail samplings lighten the mood, strengthen bonds and leave the team with memories to cherish.” Two chambres séparées are great for private parties too, including birthday celebrations, hen dos and baby showers.
The hotel’s interior is chic, with lush colours and patterns, feathers and palm trees – creating a vibrant yet welcoming atmosphere. The lobby bar is open every day and serves seasonally crafted cocktails. And the revamped Lillies Cocktail Bar is discretely hidden away at the back of the hotel – like a speakeasy in New York – if you know, you know.
In MJ’S restaurant, which seats up to 150 guests in the glass-roofed courtyard, top-notch culinary experiences enhance meetings and gatherings further. The playful Mediterranean-inspired menu tempts foodies with rich and familiar flavours, plus some unexpected surprises. “The Culinary Farm just outside Malmö grows some of the produce served, so the menu follows what is fresh right now – seasonal, thoughtful and close to home,” Eriksson adds.
This year, MJ’S has been awarded twice by Falstaff: it has been named Best Value Hotel at Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics and received two forks at Falstaff Restaurant & Bistro Guide Nordics.
