Finland’s sauna culture has a deep connection with nature and is a cherished moment for people to relax both body and mind. With its quiet, relaxing scents and bathing products, Nystad Sauna Company wants customers to feel a little bit closer to Finland, wherever they live.

Nystad Sauna Company’s products are ethical, plastic-free and made in Finland. “We strive to create luxury with a conscience,” says Tanja Harilainen, sauna therapist and CEO of the company. “Our products are pure herbal powders stored in biodegradable bags. The raw materials for all sauna scents are hand-picked at the right time to ensure they are at their best. They are not just scents; they boost the benefits of the sauna.”

In Finland, sauna culture plays a traditional role within society. “Saunas are part of everyday life and connected to celebration,” says Harilainen. “Finnish sauna bathing includes a steam bath, which moisturises the skin and warms the body. Our products are made for this element of the sauna. Customer favourites are Birch, Birch & Lavender and Birch & Peppermint, one of my favourites, which refreshes and grounds you. I also love Birch & Rose, a very feminine scent.”

There is seasonal flexibility within Finnish sauna use. In summer, cottage and beach saunas are popular, and swimming and sauna time are normally combined. During winter, saunas are used at home or near the sea after plunging in ice water. But even without a private sauna, many excellent public saunas are available. “There are wonderful saunas all over Finland,” says Harilainen. “And Finnish sauna culture is enjoyed far beyond our borders. SaunaAtlas.com is a global sauna platform, helping people discover new places to experience the benefits of the sauna. Wherever you enjoy your sauna, Nystad Sauna Company products aim to bring a piece of Finnish nature and well-being into your life.”
