Nuart Festival
“Nuart Festival was conceived in 2000 and established in 2001 as the sister festival to Numusic, an electronic music festival that I started in Stavanger in 2000. Both festivals essentially heralded the same fundamental principle of providing a platform for artists working outside of mainstream culture,” says Martyn Reed, founder and curator. “The aim has always been to challenge the status quo, to question power structures and challenge those who get to decide what art we see and why.” It sounds like a grand ambition, but Nuart is far from falling short.
