Badhotellet

Badhotellet is located in a beautiful park next to river Svartån in Tranås, within easy reach of Jönköping and Linköping. Open for more than 100 years, this is one of Sweden’s oldest spa and conference hotels and a popular destination for relaxation and recreation. The spa first opened its doors in 1899. Axel Andersson, who suffered from ill health and had visited many retreats in Sweden and abroad, believed that the fresh air and peaceful surroundings of the small town of Tranås would provide the ideal setting for a spa. The aim was to offer healing water treatments according to the ethos of German priest Sebastian Kneipp, one of the forefathers of the naturopathic medicine movement.
