Tucked away in an historic farmhouse in Skælskør is Guldagergaard, one of the world’s leading research centres within ceramics. Since it was founded 21 years ago, the centre has been visited by 200 of the world’s most talented ceramic artists. In April, works by 40 of these artists will be presented in The Shoe Box Show, curated by Mette Blum Marcher, Guldagergaard’s director since 2009. “I wanted to create an exhibition that commemorated some of all of the wonderful people I have met working here,” explains Marcher. “At the same time, it’s about exploring the journey we all go through in life, from our first steps to our final realisation as human beings.”
