Above the Arctic Circle, the midnight sun shines throughout the summer, and the northern lights colour the skies in the winter. Under the snow, berries and plants are left to hibernate for the winter, absorbing the pure water as the snow melts in the spring. LaplandWildFood’s range of dried organic berries includes dried lingonberries and bilberries, otherwise known as Arctic wild blueberries. “Rather confusingly, the bilberry is often referred to as a blueberry – however, blueberries are farmed, whereas bilberries grow in the wild,” explains Jukka Taskinen, CEO of LaplandWildFood.
