“Physical activity is an invaluable focal point at our schools,” says Finn Berggren, principal of Gerlev Idrætshøjskole (Gerlev Physical Education & Sports Academy). “We want movement to be fun, confidence-building and a positive experience for everyone; a point from which to explore other subjects and learn about yourself.” Despite being a place firmly within the Danish folk high school tradition, much of the teaching at Gerlev is in English and it’s home to a diverse group of students of different ages and nationalities.
