Having grown, developed and renewed itself significantly since its foundation as a home economics school more than a century ago, Risskov Efterskole today embodies the message it is hoping to convey to its students: in a quickly evolving global world, it is essential to be open to change and open to the world. Principal René Jacobsen says: “When we say that we want to prepare our students for life today and tomorrow, it’s based on the belief that in the future we will all be living as global citizens. Hence, we work to prepare the young people of today with the academic, personal and social skills needed to live in a modern, globalised society tomorrow.”
