You could say that Skibelund Gymnastik & Idrætsefterskole is the mother of all efterskoler. One hundred and forty years ago, the school brought the efterskole concept to life out of a necessity to save the Danish culture and language after The Second Schleswig War. Today 154 students a year are still getting education – and friends- for life at Skibelund Gymnastik & Idrætsefterskole, a modern gymnastics and sports school where education is for life. By collaborating to create gymnastic shows, students learn how everyone is an essential part of the puzzle.
